ITI ME-230 PARAMETRIC EQUALIZER

$4,300.00
sold out

Up for sale is an extremely rare pre Sontec ITI ME-230 Parametric EQ. This is in great condition, fully functional, and is still currently being used daily in a studio.

This was gone through by Burgess Macneal and the Sontec crew. Issues were addressed, repaired and it’s been rock solid ever since. Pots are original, and like with all vintage gear, they have some scratchiness and need to be exercised.

When it was sent in to be serviced, a spare backup op-amp. was purchased from Burgess which will be included.

This is the GOAT. Before there was GML and Sontec. There was only ITI. This EQ was the first commercially available Parametric Equalizer designed and built by Burgess Macneal and George Massenburg (now of GML), who wanted to create an equalizer that did not rely on inductors and switches. The result was the parametric equalizer, with the novel ability of bandwidth control. These first appeared in 1969 and only sold for a few years before Sontec was born.

This is a 5 band eq. Low band 50/100 hz shelf, and the high band is a 10khz fixed shelf just like the Sontec mastering eq layout.

EQ controls feature:

  • Stacked knobs with continuously variable frequency and bandwidth controls ('Q')

  • Single knobs with +/- 12 db attenuation.

  • High and low frequency shelving

Overlapping frequency controls are:

  • 15 to 800 Hz

  • 150 Hz to 8KHz

  • 420 Hz to 25.6 KHz

This could be in your rack. An absolute game changer for your studio!! Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity.  ITI units are very rare and seldom available for sale. There weren’t very many made, and the ones that are still alive and functioning are coveted by their owners. You can do things with this eq that no other eq can Everything I run through this ITI just sounds musical and ‘better”
