Laney AOR Series Pro Tube Lead 50 Amp
This is a 50 watt 1980’s era vintage Laney Pro Tube 50. This is a British made amp that is basically a hot-rodded Marshall 1982 JCM 800 2204. This is in excellent condition. As you can tell by the photos, this amp lived a very easy life and has ever been beat on or gigged! This was serviced and literally gone thru the amp top to bottom. New glass, caps, everything that needed to be addressed. ON top of that, another local tech here in Des Moines who modded Jim Roots Laney that was featured on Slipknots S/T, Iowa albums did some mods to this amp as well.
Dirt/Overdrive/Boost pedals are NOT necessary for this. Added perk, unlike Marshalls, is that these came with reverb and an effects loop. These amps are relatively still under the radar. Notable users include Warren DiMartini,Jim Root of Slipknot and many others.
These Laney AOR Pro Tube Lead heads and combos are the hot-rodded amps and the one you want to find!!! This 8-knob version is a 2203 clone with an added preamp tube for some serious gain, and has pull-boosts on the bass, mid & treble pots. These 8-knob amps also had a master volume control so your ears don’t bleed, footswitchable, has an effects loop, and the original factory Fane speaker, which has a lot of years of on it and is nicely broken in.
Side note, this is a combo BUT where it shines is using the amp as a head and running it thru a 2-12 or 4X12 cab… sounds insane.
