1982 Gibson Moderne Heritage

$7,000.00

1982 Gibson Moderne Heritage Reissue. This guitar has a long story. The guitar itself had been in a flood but not the case. After the flood it had sat for few years before was it purchased by my friend in the early 2000’s at his guitar shop. He spent a couple of years looking for correct era replacement pots and trying to figure out what to do with the wrecked finish and a body that had potato chipped a bit. He sent it off to RS guitar works where they worked their magic and got it flat, but the original Korina was too far stained to do a clear finish on. At that time he opted to have them do a Polaris white refin and relic the body to show that it had a history, Once he received the guitar back life got in the way and he put it off to the side and forgot about it and subsequently lost what original hardware was on it. Well he recently passed and as we were cleaning out his office we found a buried cookie tin in a closet that contained all the original parts. I was able to locate some 82 pots and one 82 (the other an 83) pickups and finally put it back together after well over a decade of being apart. The amazing thing is the neck set up wonderfully and the truss rod works just as it should. The guitar sounds wonderful and bright and is light, weighing in at only 7.26 lbs!  It does include the original case with all its latches but unfortunately is missing the handle. Please feel free to email with any other questions or if there is an additional photo you would like to see.
